On Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 May, members of the band took time out of their working days to play for the staff and students at 2 local schools in Milton Keynes – The Walnuts School and Loughton Manor First School, which is also where the band rehearses.

As part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at the schools, the band played a selection of British themed pieces, including classics such as Rule Britannia, Music for The Royal Fireworks, Jerusalem, Pomp and Circumstance, and of course, The National Anthem (God Save The Queen).

The children thoroughly enjoyed the performances and we were nearly outdone by the kazoo playing and budding conductors. It was fantastic for the band to be out in the community.
