Performing on the bandstand at Abington Park in Northampton is an opportunity that Milton Keynes Brass always look forward to, and it often attracts large crowds. <\/p>\n

Although we were given a much better date in mid May this year (following the icy 1 or 2 degrees at the beginning of April last year!), the forecast was rain. <\/p>\n

However, the local crowds didn\u2019t let us down, and even brought the sunshine with them. As ever, it was a fantastic occasion. Craig Patterson kindly stepped in and led the band, and with his reliable beat the band performed three 45 minute sets of rousing music to an appreciative audience and packed caf\u00e9. <\/p>\n

The programme wasn\u2019t short of solos with Sarah Potts (horn) playing Disney\u2019s \u201cGo the Distance\u201d, Martin Wakley (trombone) playing \u201cFeeling Good\u201d, Matt Ball playing \u201cRusulka: Song to the Moon\u201d and Duncan Bruce (euphonium) with \u201cBlaydon Races\u201d. <\/p>\n

For anyone thinking of going out and listening to a brass band, I would highly recommend this season of performances at Abington Park. There is a play park for the kids, a boating lake, plenty of wildlife and of course the fantastic bands and ice cream!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
